A Forrester Research study published underscores the affinity of gays for the Internet.
The community has been using the Internet to a greater extent and for a longer period of time than the rest of the population, purchases more on-line (63% as against 53% for heterosexuals questioned), has more high-speed connections (31% as against 23%) and makes more financial transactions over the Net (35% as against 26%).
Another element: 33% of gay homes purchase more than half of their vacation trips on-line…
A survey conducted by Harris Interactive and Witeck-Combs Communications, Inc. reveals that consumers who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) have deeper trust for products and brands that not only target gay consumers, but even more so for products offered by companies that have progressive policies toward gay and lesbian employees. Fifty-six percent of all gays sampled agreed that they trust brands more from progressive companies -- with 41% reporting they
strongly agree.
